Logging a dose on your Gocap

1. The Gocap comes with a removable reminder label. Read the caution on the label then remove the label. A

Never use Gocap to decide your dose amount. Always follow your doctor’s instructions.

2. Remove the cap from the insulin pen before inserting into the Gocap. B

3. Push the insulin pen into the Gocap until it clicks then twist the pen and stop when snapped into place.C

4. The Gocap displays the insulin remaining on your pen and adds a check mark for each dose you log. D

The Gocap can display up to three checkmarks at once. New checkmarks are added from the right side of the display and existing checkmarks are shifted over one place. Each checkmark and circle will remain on the display for 10 hours from when it was added. If you log two doses within an hour, only one checkmark will be displayed for both doses.

If the Gocap has been added to the app and you are logging a dose for the first time, a “New pen” entry will appear on the Logbook. “New pen” will also appear anytime an insulin pen is inserted into the Gocap with a higher insulin amount than the previous insulin pen that was inserted or appears after a dose was not logged correctly on the Gocap. Tapping on the “New pen” entry allows you add the dose amount. D1

5. If the dose was not read, dashes will appear on the Gocap display screen. E

Repeat step 3.

If the Gocap has been added to the app, an “Unread dose” will appear on the Logbook. If another dose is logged correctly after the”Unread dose”, the next entry will appear as a “New pen” since the last dose amount was not known. Tapping on the “New pen” entry allows you add the dose amount. E1

If the Gocap does not successfully record a dose:

  • Verify the Gocap is charged by plugging into an outlet
  • Make sure the insulin pen is pushed all the way in and twisted into place
  • Make sure Gocap is clean
  • Make sure Gocap is not physically damaged
  • Make sure Gocap’s temperature is not out of recommended range
  • Make sure the insulin pen is clean
  • Make sure the insulin pen is not damaged
  • Make sure the insulin pen is unexpired
